Course Title: Pediatric Rheumatology
Course Description: Students learn to evaluate and care for children with rheumatologic disorders. This advanced clinical clerkship course emphasizes performing the musculoskeletal exam, understanding diagnostic testing in rheumatology, developing a differential diagnosis for children presenting with inflammatory symptoms and/or pain, and the approach to the care of children with chronic disease. Students will also be exposed to ongoing clinical research studies in pediatric rheumatology.
Prerequisites: Pediatrics 110 and Medicine 110 (or equivalent, if a Visiting Student from outside UCSF), and consent of instructor.
