Course Description: Pediatric Surgery represents a true general surgical experience and will provide students with a comprehensive exposure to treatment of surgical illness of infants and children. Students will be exposed to continuum of surgical care, from the NICU/preoperative encounter through operative care discharge, follow-up and rehabilitation. Basics of management taught within the framework of family centered patient care with exposure to a wide variety of operative procedures.
Prerequisites: Completion of basic science curriculum, Surgery Core and Pediatric Core rotations.
