Course Description: Operating Room (OR) Assist is an elective to provide medical students with an opportunity to participate in surgical procedures at UCSF affiliated Operating Rooms. Students will follow the patient from the preoperative setting, into the intraoperative theater, and into the postoperative setting. Students will be expected to sign up for a minimum of three evening or weekend shifts in the Operating Room resulting in a total of 22 clinical hours.
