Course Description: Designed for students interested in primary care medicine or any surgical specialty. Students will develop knowledge & skills necessary to care for primary patients throughout the perioperative period. Emphasis will be on appropriate pre-operative evaluation, a glimpse of intra-operative management & following some patients into the post-operative arena. Examples of areas of focus will include perioperative cardiopulmonary risk assessment & coagulation issues along with postoperative pain mgmt.
Prerequisites: Anesthesia 110, Medicine 110.
Restrictions: 4th year medical students.
