Course Description: In the fall quarter, students will learn about preventive care and receive training on how to take blood pressures and heart rates, counsel patients on whether the blood pressure is at goal using national guidelines, and provide focused counseling on diet, exercise and recommended preventive care. In the winter, students will work with undeserved, diverse patients in the Family Health Center at SFGH to take blood pressures and counsel patients on preventative health.
