Course Description: This course provides an overview of managed care pharmacy in the US healthcare system.Topics include an introduction to managed care principles,pharmacoeconomics,and outcomes research,P&T and formulary management,accountable care organizations and the medical home model,and a broad sampling of managed care career paths.By course completion,students will have an understanding of managed care pharmacy and how managed care decisions are made in a range of practice settings.
