Course Description: This course introduces students to health challenges faced by transgender patients. With an emphasis on primary care considerations, lectures will discuss the components of transgender-inclusive healthcare. Through lecture, discussion, and a patient panel, student will explore: demographics, health disparities, primary care protocols, history of transgender medicine, surgical options, primary care for transgender youth, and critical research questions in transgender health.
