Course Description: This introductory clerkship is a two-week elective that provides a broad overview to emergency medicine. Students will gain experience evaluating and treating the acutely ill patient in a busy county urban emergency department. Students will collect and interpret data, then demonstrate the ability to synthesize a plan through oral case presentation and discussion. This hands on rotation will expose the students to various emergency medicine procedures.
Prerequisites: Third year standing.
Restrictions: Restricted to 3 UCSF third year medical students per 2 week block.
