Course Description: A hospital-based clinical experience on the Palliative Care Service focused on the care of patients with serious, chronic and terminal illness emphasizing symptom management, communication, ethical issues, spiritual care and psychosocial support of patients and their families. Students will have the opportunity to care for patients with serious and life-threatening illness. Students will serve as a part of the palliative care team made up of an attending physician, fellow, and clinical nurses.
Prerequisites: None
Restrictions: Must be 4th year Medical student.
