Course Description: Fundamentals of microbiology and immunology for pharmacy students. Topics of emphasis include mechanisms of disease produced by bacteria, fungi, and viruses and the associated antimicrobial agents; structure and function of the immune system; immunologic responses to infection; and the role of the immune system in vaccination, cancer, hypersensitivity, and autoimmune disease.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of all first-year required coursework.
