Course Catalog

Course Listing Format

All courses are numbered according to the following system:

  • 100 Series = Upper division professional course.
  • 200 and 300 Series = Graduate academic course.
  • 400 Series = Postdoctoral professional course.
  • The meaning of the second (tens) and third (units) digits varies among the schools. A detailed explanation of course numbering is available from the office of the dean of each school.

The number of units is determined by the Committee on Courses of Instruction which aligns course requirements with appropriate credit.

The Office of the Registrar provides this on-line compendium of the courses of instruction offered by the University of California San Francisco. To add or update a course listing please follow the process described at the web site of the Academic Senate - Course Actions.
