Course Description: Didactic course will provide a thorough understanding of anatomic pathology and common diseases of selected organ systems. The course will cover general principles of pathology underlying the mechanisms of disease, including cell injury and cellular adaptations, acute and chronic inflammation, healing and tissue repair, fluid and hemodynamic derangements, immunopathology, environmental pathology, neoplasia and viral pathogenesis/carcinogenesis, as well as disorders of specific organ systems.
Prerequisites: Substantive courses in biochemistry, physiology, histology, microbiology (first quarter, concurrent) or an introduction to immunology
