Course Description: The course gives an introduction to the general principles of pharmacology and a discussion of the pharmacology and pharmaceutical chemistry of endocrine drugs and drugs that inhibit inflammatory and immune responses. Specific topics include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, histamine antagonists, treatment of gout, drugs for gastrointestinal disorders, adrenal and gonadal steroids, thyroid and pituitary drugs, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes
Prerequisites: BIOCHEM 112, PHARM CHEM 115, or consent of instructor.
Restrictions: Second-year standing in the School of Pharmacy, or consent of instructor. The School of Pharmacy requires PharmD students to enroll for a letter grade.
