Course Description: Medical students will gain exposure to the field of forensic psychiatry by treating patients who are incarcerated, analyzing an insanity plea case, and preparing a presentation on a legal topic. They will work at San Quentin Rehabilitation Center and with justice-involved veterans. They will participate in a landmark case seminar that reviews cases at the interface of psychiatry and the law. Students need access to a car.
