Course Description: Course provides the biological basis for associations between oral infections and systemic diseases and the influence of risk factors on the susceptibility, progression, and treatment of periodontal diseases. Discussions and experiences will focus on designing interventions for caries prevention and management by assessing pathologic and preventive factors. The benefits and problems with the current periodontal disease and caries risk assessments will also be discussed
Prerequisites: DH202A DH200A DPH210
Restrictions: Open only to students enrolled in the MS-DH program or by consent of program director.
