Course Description: Course focuses on diabetes (type 1 and type 2) in a pediatric population. Course will include: epidemiology and detection of diabetes in children and adolescents; pathophysiology; disease management requirements; pharmacological treatment; transition issues; diabetes education and self-care management expectations for pediatric patients and their families. Each topic area will emphasize a collaborative team approach to care and invited speakers will be from the team's represented disciplines.
