Course Description: This course provides training in the theory and practice of collaborating with patients, members of the public, and community-based organizations in health research, intervention design and implementation. Multiple engagement strategies are introduced through readings, guest speakers, case studies, and online discussions. Participatory research methods will be applied to trainees' ongoing or planned projects in order to adapt health interventions to real-world contexts.
Prerequisites: Training or experience in public health, quality improvement or health care organization leadership. Exceptions for these prerequisites may be made with the consent of the course director.
Restrictions: Enrollment is not permitted if EPIDEMIOL 248 has been taken and passed.
