Course Description: This course serves as an introduction to the field of anesthesia. Students will become familiar with the components of the pre-operative assessment and medical clearance of the surgical patients. They will learn and practice both basic and advanced airway management skills. Their experience will also include learning about the perioperative pain management strategies that include a variety of oral and intravenous agents, peripheral nerve blocks, and neuraxial blocks.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of third year electives.
