Course Description: This course is the application of pharmacotherapeutic principles in pediatric acute care settings. Concepts highlight evidence-based decision-making, minimizing adverse reactions and potential drug-drug interactions, and maximizing beneficial health outcomes for children with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. This course also provides an overview of legal, regulatory, and safety issues related to prescribing.
Prerequisites: Active enrollment as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty graduate or post-graduate student, or instructor approval.
Restrictions: Course enrollment is limited to ACPNP students or approval of the FOR.
