Course Description: This course introduces the use of psychotherapy for treatment of cognitive, emotional and behavioral problems experienced by children and adolescents. Content builds upon a developmental framework, as well as a basic understanding of patient-centered clinical practice, including individual and family strengths, resiliency, and cultural identity. Evidence-based and best practices in psychotherapeutic modalities are introduced within the context of PMHNP practice.
Prerequisites: NURSING 257 and NURSING 227 or consent of instructor.
